Who am I?
Hey there! I'm Alana. I'm a bit fiery, deeply caring, and weird - kind of like David Rose from Schitt's Creek. I've always felt a deep connection with people and knew early on that helping others was important to me. I have worked in retirement homes, long-term care facilities, youth homes, in the school system and in the federal carceral system. I feel incredibly lucky to be able to support people through some of life's toughest challenges.
I have a Master's degree in Social Work, with certifications in grief, and trauma exposure therapies including Prolonged Exposure and Accelerated Resolution Therapy.
At the very foundation of our working relationship, is the importance I hold in making real connections with you and to support you on your healing journey. Reaching out can be tough, and I can't wait to meet you and work together.
On a personal note, I am a wife, and a mom to two intelligent, spirited and beautiful daughters. I have personal experience with postpartum anxiety, and OCD, as well as birth trauma. And understand the complexities of parenthood.
I am also part of the late diagnosed ADHD adult club...or neurospicy as I refer to it as.
Throughout my own journey, I've learned the impact that the power of a safe, non-judgmental space to be heard and encouraged to show myself compassion can have.
Let me do that for you.
